1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how DWYT - Don't Waste Your Time ("DWYT") handles information when you use the mobile App or this website.
2. Information stored on your device
The personal content you create in DWYT, including activities, plans, categories, time commitments, templates, and settings, is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. DWYT does not upload this planning content to its own servers.
Deleting the App may delete this local content and the local record of an app-managed Pro trial. Restoring a paid purchase does not restore local planning data.
3. Usage analytics and feedback
DWYT uses PostHog's EU-hosted service for pseudonymous usage analytics. Depending on your app version, events record app launches and returns from the background, timer starts, next-day return, onboarding completion, and the first planning, timer-start, and activity-completion actions.
These events may include a randomly generated installation identifier, timestamp, number of calendar days since the first tracked open, App version, operating system, device type, screen dimensions, and network-derived information processed by PostHog. They do not include the content of your plans, activities, categories, time commitments, or templates.
On new Android installations with campaign measurement, DWYT may read the Google Play install referrer and send available campaign source, medium, campaign, content, and term values, plus whether a Google Ads click identifier was present. The original referrer and click identifier are not sent. This helps us understand which campaigns lead to app use.
If you voluntarily submit feedback in the App, DWYT sends the feedback text and associated technical context to PostHog. Do not include sensitive personal information in feedback.
In the App, automatic screen tracking, touch tracking, and session replay are disabled. You can opt out of PostHog analytics in Settings > Data Collection. When opted out, usage events and in-app feedback submission are disabled.
On this website, PostHog is configured to record page views, which may include the page URL, referring page, browser and device information, and a pseudonymous browser identifier. Automatic click and form-interaction capture and session replay are disabled. The App's analytics opt-out does not control website analytics.
If you use the website contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent to PostHog as a contact_form_submitted event; your name and email are also associated with a PostHog profile so we can find and respond to the submission. This is not an email inbox. Please do not include sensitive information. You can instead email info@dwyt-software.com.
4. Purchases and Pro access
DWYT uses RevenueCat to provide and manage paid DWYT Pro access. RevenueCat and the applicable app store process information needed to complete and restore purchases. This may include a pseudonymous RevenueCat App User ID; product, entitlement, purchase, renewal where applicable, expiration, and cancellation information; store transaction and receipt information; and app, platform, country, and device-related technical information.
DWYT does not receive or store your complete payment-card details. Payment information is handled by the applicable app store.
5. Purposes and legal bases
- Pseudonymous App and website usage analytics are processed based on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving DWYT. The App has an in-app opt-out.
- App feedback and website contact messages are processed because you voluntarily choose to submit them and so we can respond.
- Purchase information is processed as necessary to provide DWYT Pro, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
Where local law requires consent or another legal basis, we will rely on that basis.
6. Sharing and retention
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared with PostHog, RevenueCat, and the applicable app store only as needed for the purposes described above. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Retention periods are determined by the purpose of processing, legal requirements, and the providers' retention settings. Local App content remains on your device until you delete it, reset the App, or uninstall the App.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, and to receive a portable copy.
- Opt out of analytics in the App's Settings.
- Use browser privacy controls to limit website analytics, or contact us directly by email instead of the website form.
- Delete or export local App data using Data Management.
- Manage or cancel an automatically renewing subscription through the applicable app store.
- Use Restore Purchases to recover eligible paid Pro access associated with the same store account.

8. Security and international processing
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information processed. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable contractual and legal safeguards.
9. Children
DWYT is not directed to children below the minimum age required to consent to digital services in their country. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The updated date at the top identifies the current version.
